With the Commonwealth Games almost upon us and the World Athletics Championships underway, we are delighted to share this special episode from last year with sporting legend, Denise Lewis, OBE. Denise is President of Commonwealth Games England, and will be busy with this year's Games in Birmingham, which run from 28th July until 8th August. We look forward to celebrating the Games and supporting our Home athletes in their quest for gold.

Denise is a former Olympian who notably achieved gold in heptathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Not only is Denise a two time Commonwealth Games champion and the 1998 European Champion, she also won silver medals in the 1997 and 1999 World Championships. After retiring from track and field in 2005, Denise was inducted into the UK Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011.

In addition to Denise’s sporting achievements, she was honoured as Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2001 New Year Honours. Listen to understand more about Denise’s career in athletics, and how her dedication to sport has positively impacted her life.
